I have worked for the company for 23 years. I started in 1997 as a chef de Partie in Auberge, Croydon. Over the years I have progressed and worked in all the company restaurants. I was promoted and helped with the openings and operation of many kitchens (ranging from Norwich to Portsmouth). I am now Head Chef in one of the busiest restaurants Azzurro Waterloo and still enjoying the experience.
Over 20 years ago I started working in Auberge Waterloo as a waitress. I really enjoyed it, am very self motivated and worked hard. A year later I was promoted to manager and am still in the role today. Over this time we have evolved the Auberge, embraced new trends, updated the decor and regularly improved menus, whilst keeping the Auberge style that our many regulars enjoy. My favourites from the menu are our great Belgian beers and tasty pots of steaming freshly cooked Moules.
I arrived in London in 1998 and with the help of friend found a job washing up and cleaning tables in Cafe Giardino Croydon. I did this for a year and a half before I was offered a job to train and work behind the counter. In 2001 the manager gave me the opportunity to train in management. I became the assistant and then main manager. In 2012 I worked briefly in Kingston before returning to Centrale in Croydon as the General manager. I still work here today and am very proud of my restaurant and what I do here. I am really happy to have worked for the Cafe Giardino family for the last 22 years.
